"On 15 June 1727 her father Gave her gifts of slaves and furniture. Shortly thereafter, she married George Shannahan, an Innkeeper at Talbot Courthouse - as his second wife. In May 1748 her father left her land near the village of Royal Oak. By this time Sarah had married Thomas Spencer.

To grand-son John Shannahan, slaves, at the death of his mother Sarah Spencer, and for want of issue to his mother, and his mother Sarah Spencer and for want of hrs. to my son Edward Elliott. To grand-son William Elliot, slaves. Son Edward Elliot, ex. Wit: Joseph Hopkins , Richard Keighley, William Corsey."
