Harvey M. Hausman, 75, of Lyon Valley, New Tripoli R. 2, chairman of the board of supervisors of Lowhill Township, Lehigh County, died at 2 p.m. yesterday near his home.
He was stricken with a heart attack at a garage belonging to his son, Arthur H. He had been in failing health for several months.
Hausman was a township supervisor for the last 24 years. His fourth term would have ended the first of near year. He did not seek reelection this year.
Born in Lowhill Township, he was a son of the late Franklin and Eliza (Schuler) Hausman. He was married to Mrs. Masena J. E. (Mohr) Hausman.
He was a member of the Lutheran congregation and Sunday school of Weisenberg Union Church and a former church deacon. Hausman also belonged to the Council-at-large, Fraternal Patriotic Americans, Philadelphia; Fogelsville Fire Co., and Germansville Fire Co.
Besides his wife, surviving are two sons, Harvey H. and Paul L., New Tripoli R. 2; three daughters, Mrs. Ella M. Miller, New Tripoli R. 2; Mamie E., wife of Robert Breininger, Breinigsville R. 2; and Cora M., wife of Nelson Litzenberger, Germansville R. 1; four brothers, Alvin, Allentown R. 3; John, Wescosville R. 1; George, Schnecksville; and Marcus, Redding, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Henry Werley, Allentown R. 3; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella, and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Acker, Mrs. Cora Baer and Mrs. Ida Schneck.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Weisenberg Union Church.
