Jonathan was a shoemaker and also worked at the Allentown Bobbin Works. He was the father of Mrs. H. A. Cummey, Allentown; Mrs. W. S. Gilbert, Montreal, Canada; Mrs. W. C. Ehrich, Cala.; Ellwood, Allentown; Eugene, Allentown, and John, Allentown. A daughter, Annie G.(age 3), and his wife Mary Alice (nee Steininger) preceded him in death.

Jonathan P. Haas died yesterday at 6.30 p.m. He had been in failing health for the past two years but died quite unexpectedly at his boarding place, No. 633 North Ninth street, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude V. Bacheit. He is survived by six children, Mrs. H. A. Cummey, city; Mrs. W. S. Gilbert, Montreal, Canada; Mrs. W. C. Ehrich, Cala.; Ellwood, city; Eugene, city, and John, city, and seven grandchildren. A daughter and his wife, Mary Alice (nee Steininger) preceded him in death. The brothers and sisters are William Haas, Catasauqua; Frank, Topton; Charles, city; Nathan A., city; Mrs. John Weiler, city; Mrs. Daniel Dauner, Shamrock. He was a shoe worker by trade but for the last few years worked at the Allentown Bobbin Works. He was born in Longswamp, Berks county, May 15, 1853, the son of Nathan and Eliza (nee Butz) Haas. He was a member of the Jr. O.U.A.M.
