Alvin Martin, son of Edwin J. and Priscilla (Steward) Bachman, was born at Catasauqua, 10/11/1876. He learned the machinists trade with I. F. Grammes, and then worked for them until 1904, at which time he entered the employ of Emil Hirner, with whom he remained seven years. In 1911 he became associated with Mack Brothers, and has charge of the erection crews, these being composed of a number of men in each. His political support is given to the Republican Party, and he is a member of the Salem Reformed church. Mr. Bachman married 2/24/1900 to Sallie S. daughter of James and C. Amanda (Paff) Simons, late of Easton. They have no children.
