Mrs. Annie, wife of Chas. W. Chapman, after an illness of several months, died at home, Fourth St. and Strawberry Alley, at 4 P.M., Tuesday last. She had partially recovered, and on Easter Sunday, at church at both morning and evening services, and was cordially greeted by many friends, but a day or 2 later was stricken with congestion of the brain, after a week of unconsciousness, quietly passed away as above. Mrs. Chapman was born in Wales, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Phillips. Her parents came to this country when she was three years old and settled in Pottsville. Subsequently, they moved to Catasauqua, where Mrs. Chapman lived for the past fifty years. She was married in 1860 to her surviving husband. Two sons, Lansford F. and Edwin Chapman, and one sister, Mrs. Naomi Williams survive. Her Death is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends, who held her in high esteem. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. C. H. Miller, her pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was made at Fairview Cemetery.
