JACOB SCHMEYER, son of Abraham and Susanna (Stephen) Schmeyer, was born in Macungie Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania on December 6, 1802 (tombstone record) or December 5, 1802 (church record) and baptized February 20, 1803 by Rev. Friederich Gaisenheimer, the sponsors being Jacob Stephen and Magdalena Laros.

He first married Lydia Danner, daughter of John Danner and Susanna Mohr Danner, born December 12, 1811 and died August 9, 1832. This union was blessed with one son, Edward B.

Jacob Schmeyer married a second time to his brother Solomon's widow, Mrs. Annie (Anna) Biery Schmeyer, who was born in 1812 and died November 5, 1854. Their union was blessed with Emaline B. (m. Alfred C. Geiger), Martha E., Lewis B., Kate A. (m. Alfred J. Troxell), Amanda (m. Philander Pells), Mary A. (second wife of Alfred C. Geiger), Sylvanus E.(m. Martha Van Riper)and James F. (m. Ella Charlotte Miller).

Jacob and Annie left Lehigh County in April of 1853 moving to Warren, Trumbull Co, Ohio where they resided for eight years and where his wife, Annie died and was buried. In 1861 Jacob left Warren, Ohio for Jackson Co, Michigan where he died July 5, 1875 and is buried in Wright Cemetery, Parma, Jackson County, Michigan.
