Reuben Fretz, 73, a native of Berks County died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson W. Barto. Born in Longswamp to Reuben and Catherine Gorr Fretz, he was a resident of Mertztown and for many years worked as a blacksmith in the carriage business. He was a member of the Reformed Congregation of the Longswamp church where he is buried. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, nee Trexler, Fretz and a daughter, Sadie May. He is survived by two children: Mary (1890-?) m. Wilson Barto (1889-?) and Herbert Charles (1892-?) m. Lilly Sechler of Fleetwood
