Casper Newhard, son of John and Anna Maria, was born July 14, 1792, and died July 12, 1848, in Allentown where he had long resided at Union and Locust streets. He was a printer on the Friedensbote, and at one time keeper of the old prison at Fifth and Linden streets. He was married. June 25, 1815. by Rev. Conrad Yeager, to Christina Sophia Nagel, daughter of Leonard and Sophia C. (Finckel) Nagel. She was born April 12, 1795, and died Feb. 6, 1876. They had nine children:
