JOHN REINHARD, second son of John, was born in Salisbury. Dec. 25, 1833. He was educated in the local school, and reared on a farm until he became twenty years of age, when he learned the trade of blacksmith with Stephen Kiechel, Lower Macungie, and followed it for fifteen years. Then he rented his brother-in-law's farm in the township and cultivated it on the shares, and later he bought the Gideon Kline farm of 100 acres and also later other farms. In 1895 he retired from active life. In 1860, he was married to Angelina, daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Hiskey) Wenner. She was born Feb. 12, 1837 and died May 7, 1892. They had three children: Jacob J.; Elizabeth A., married Addison Kuhns of Upper Macungie; and Maria, married Frank Backenstoe, who operates his father-in-law's farm and they have five children: Lloyd, Sola, Arthur, Clarice, and Roman. They are members of Western Salisbury Reformed church, which he served as deacon, elder and trustee.
