Samuel T. Waidelich, second son of Dexter, was born at Steinsville, Nov 30. 1881. He was educated in the public schools of Lynn Township, graduating there in 1898, and of Pierce Busines College at Philadellphia, Feb. 12, 1901. He then accepted a position as stenographer with the H. C. Biddle & Co., in Philadelphia and continued there three years when he returned to his native township and purchased a 45-acre farm from the David Hartman estate, situated near New Tripoli. The modern scientific methods applied by Mr. Waidelich in its cultivation have proven most successful and profitable. He took a complete correspondence course in agriculture with the State College of Pennsylvania. Mr. Waidelich's library contains upwards of 700 volumes. He is a scholar and one of the intelligent and progressive citizens of his township. He taught school two terms, in 1899 and 1900, in the Wannamaker School, near Lyimport. Politically he is a staunch Democrat and in 1911 was elected for a term of four years as school director of the township, receiving highest vote in the whole ticket. He was honored with an election as one of six delegates of Lehigh County to the state school director's convention held in Harrisburg on Feb. 7, and 8, 1913. He was honored with the presidency of the first board under the new school code.

Socially Mr. Waidelich, is past grand of Steinsville Lodge No 249, I. O. O. F., since 1902, and in 1908 was elected representative of the Grand Lodge, which met in Philadelphia; charter member and Past Patriarch of the encampment, No 54,1.0.0. F. of Pleasant Corner. Pa.

On Nov. 9, 1904. he was wedded to Flora L. Moyer, daughter of J. D. O. Moyer, (whose full history appears in this publication). They worship in Ebenezer church at New Tripoli, being members of the Lutheran Faith. They have three children: Harry 1., Archie I. and Sadie I. J.
