Alfred W. Troxell, eldest son of Charles, was born in Lehigh County in 1830. After attending the public school, he began teaching at an early age and was engaged in this profession until his decease in 1850, excepting a period of five years, when he was associated with his father in the mercantile business at Tiffin, Ohio. He was a member of the Union Church at Neftsville, and there he was buried. He served as assessor of North Whitehall. In politics he was a Democrat. He was married to Amelia Newhard, a daughter of Joseph and they had seven children.
