Benjamin F. Trexler, born Feb. 25, 1827, who has been engaged in newspaper work for seventy years. At the age of thirteen he learned the printer's trade in the Friedensbote office and in 1848 with Reuben Guth, edited and published the Lecha patriot. In 1854, he founded the Welt Bote, which he published over thirty-eight years, and from 1858 to 1867 published the Republikaner. In 1870 he became one of the proprietors of the Friedensbote, which he edited for twenty-three years, when he retired. He married, Nov 11, 1849, Diana, daughter of David Walter. They had two sons.
