Victor H. Steckel, son of Oliver and Mary Steckel, was born at Orefield, Pa., 4/26/1876. Attending the public schools until 18 years of age, he attended thereupon the New York Trade School for one term, learning the plumbing and heating business. On 8/10/1896 he began the plumbing business at 551 North 8th street, Allentown, where he continued until 4/1/1897, when he removed to Pennsburg, where he continues in the plunging, heating and lighting business. In 1905, he started the automobile business in connection with the above, having salerooms at Pennsburg, and 145 Hamilton street, Allentown, which later have been recently removed to 6th and Union streets. He is distributor of the K-R-I-T and Peterson pleasure cars, and the Lincoln and B. O. E. trucks. In 1903. he was elected on the Democratic ticket as councilman at Pennsburg. He is a director of the Pennsburg National bank since 1911. He was married to Katie, daughter of Harry B. and Sarah Hartzell, 10129/1899, and resides at 227 North Main Street, Pennsburg.
