William Ruch, son of Peter Ruch and his wife. Susan Schreiber, was born on Jan. 18, 1806, and died May 9, 1893.age.eighty-seven years, three months and twenty-one days. He is buried at Egypt church, where he was a member. He also served as trustee a number of years, and held other offices. He followed farming; and owned and tenanted the farm now owned by the estate of Hon. W. H. Sowden. In religion he was Lutheran and in politics a Republican. He also served as school director.

He married Lydia Troxell, daughter of Nicholas Troxell and his wife, Maria (Heller).
