SYLVANUS O. REICHARD, of Allentown, was born July 18,1870, at Springtown, Bucks county, Pa. He was reared upon the Schreiber homestead in Salisbury Township, having lived upon it for 20 years. In 1899 he engaged in the hotel business at Allentown, conducting for three years the Pioneer Hotel, located at Tenth and Liberty Sts. Afterward he purchased one-half interest in the Neurmoyer freight line and four years later sold his interests and bought the Kline farm in Salisbury township, consisting of 88 acres. He cultivated this farm for two years, then rented it on shares to become clerk in Hotel Penn. In 1910 he became the proprietor of the U. S. Hotel, located at Seventh and Liberty streets, Allentown. The hotel has fifteen rooms. Mr. Reichard is a member of these lodges: Greenleaf Lodge, No. 561, F. & A. M.; Livingston Castle, No. 258, K G. E., Independent Order Americans; Allentown Aerie No. 110, F. 0. E.; Allentown Nest No. 72, Order of Owls. In 1898 he matted Dora S. Miller, a daughter of Henry and Anna (Frederick) Miller, of Salisbury Township. They are members of St. Andrew Reformed church
