James Kincaid was born in Burlington County, N. J., in 1795. When yet single he came to Lehigh County and settled in Salisbury township. For some years he was a distiller and later became a boatman on the Lehigh canal, following this vocation until his death in 1856, at the age of 62 years. Mr. Kincaid and his wife are buried at Jerusalem church. He married Catherine Reich, born in 1805, died in 1883, aged 78 years.
