George T. RockeL son of John E., and a Jeweler at Cementon, was born June 14, 1866, at Kreidersville. After receiving his education in the public schools, he learned telegraphy and was in the employ of the L. V. R_ R_ Co., at Coplay station from 1887 to 1891. Then he went to Texas and after remaining there a year he removed to Denver. Col. when he enlisted as a musician in the band connected with the 7th Regiment, U.S. Infantry, and served 3 years, 3 months. Upon receiving his discharge, he returned to Cementon and engaged in the jewelry business, which he has carried on until the present time. In connection with this business, he has acted as manager of the Western Union Telegraph Company's office at Cementon since 1909. He is a member of the Modem Woodmen of America. In 1902, he was married to Tillie C., daughter of Aaron and Caroline (Lazarus) Diefenderfer.
