John A. Boyer, the eldest of the five sons of John, was born 3/30/1806. He was recognized as a man of more than ordinary ability, possessed of marked character, and filled the office of Justice of the Peace for 15 years; and during the year 1827 was employed in the construction of the Lehigh Canal. He was married to Elizabeth Christman (b. 3/30/1806) and they had 13 children; Lovina who married Robert Muschlitz, Franklin, Abel, Edward, Elizabeth who married Henry Kuntz, Mary who married Stephen Bayer, Priscilla who married Samuel Kostenbader, Matilda who married Alfred Keatz, John, Henry, Levi, James and a son who died in infancy.
