Gave the woman's or Maternity Pavilion to St. Lukes Hospital
Worked at Asa's country store as a clerk after being miner and laborer.. Part owner of the Humbolt Mines near Summit Hill which he later sold out to Asa.. Sold the store and engaged in the contracting business. He built the famous Rockport Cut on the Lehigh Valley railroad line. Later called the Lehigh Gap? His incredible engineering talents were key to his relationship with Asa and to the early success in the railroad business. Prime mover in the lehigh Valley Coal company. Lived at the Wilbur mansion in Fountain Hill later in life. Annie died there. Was a director of the Lehigh Valley railroad. Had some ownership in Abott's Bethlehem Foundry and Machine Shop. Was living with EP Wilbur and Stella at the time of the 1880 census. When he died in the 1890's, he was living at the Eagle Hotel (site of Hotel Bethlehem)[1]
