He was educated in the common schools. He engaged in the hotel business at Bethlehem, where he remained for some time afterward. He continued the same business at Allentown. In 1909 he purchased the wholesale liquor and bottling establishment at E. A. Krause on Chestnut Street, Emaus, at which place he now resides and has been very successful in this venture
