Misc. Notes
P. 427 Peter Schreiber, second son of Edward, was born in Whitehall Oct. 7.1835. His earlier years were spent on his father's farm and in 1865 he entered the oil business, which he successfully followed for a number of years at Pithole, East Sandy, and Butler, and became one of the best known operators in the state. After a residence of several years at Pithole he removed to Oil City, where he remained until 1909, when he removed to Franklin. He died suddenly from apoplexy at his home on Feb. 13, 1913. His health had been seriously impaired from an injury received in a trolley wreck on May 30, 1910, from which he suffered intense pain, though he never complained and few were aware of it. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a manly man loyal to his friends and a devoted husband and father. He married, May 20, 1874, Miss Caroline Foreman, at Milford, N. J. They had two children: Foreman H. Schreiber, of Frostburg, Md., and Mrs. D. Custer Moore, of Franklin Pa.
