Franklin J. Schreiber, born Dec. 23i 1833, assisted his father on the farm, and in the distillery, and in the milling business. In 1878 he removed to Moorhead, Minn., where he operated a farm of 2,080 acres. The principal products were spring wheat and oats. He also raised horses, cattle and hogs, and later installed a large daisy and made butter of the first quality, which he disposed of at fancy prices. He received prizes at the state dairymen's conventions, and was considered an authority in the agricultural councils of the state. He married Miss Sallie Harman of Bloornsburg, Pa. They had no children. He met with an accidental death in 1889.
