Misc. Notes
From obit (4 Sept. 1908) Born in the house incorporated a few years ago into the summer home of Randolph M. Appletoon on what is now known as Waldingfield Road. The house stood near the present entrance to Mr. Appleto's grounds and, being near the railroad, bore the simple title of "Brown's Crossing". Mr Brown's mother came from Springfield, but his father was the first child born in Hamilton after the town was set off from Ipswich, and on account of this fact he received the name, "Hamilton."

He was the last of a family of six brothers and sisters but his later years have been granted the companionship of two men who have been to him as father and brother, Deacon Gould (John J.) and his son Walter F. Gould.
