VICE-PRESIDENT and General Manager of the Northampton Traction Co., son of Jacob and Annie Hay, was born May 21, 1861 at Easton, Pa. He received his education in the Easton Public Schools having graduated from the Easton High School.

Mr. Hay started in business as partner in the J. Hay & Sons Wholesale Drygoods in i879, partner in the Hay Boot & Shoe Co., 1889, Vice-President and General Manager of the Northampton Traction Co., Bangor and Portland Traction Co., and the Northampton-Easton and Washington Traction Co. In 1896 he was one of the organizers of the Eastern I Power Co., and later became Secretary and Treasurer. Mr. Hay was one of the promoters and builders oi the Electric Road between Easton and Bethlehem and was President and General Manager of the Montgomery 'Traction Company and also the electric road running from Lansdale to Norristown. He is part owner and operator in a large tract of land in Easton, formerly the Easton Fair Grounds and other property running from 12th Street to 21St Street.

He is a member of the following organizations: Easton Lodge No. a52, Free and Accepted Masons, Easton Chapter No. 173, Royal Arch Masons, Hugh De Payens Commandery No. 19, Easton Rotary Club, Knights Templar, the Sons of Veterans, the American Electric Railway Associations, Easton City Planning Commission a director of the Easton Y .M. C. A. and of the Easton's Children's Home and is an elder and trustee of the Brainerd Union Presbyterian Church.
